in random order…

ritual daily popcorn and clementines for snack | american idol and project runway allstars…yes please! | nursing Tyson’s infected ear | crafting for valentines day | babysitting | volunteering feeding the homeless in fremont | been trying to hit the gym 3 times a week (hard since it’s so nice out lately! | got a new owl hook from urban outfitters to hang our keys |sushi! | making perfect hardboiled eggs : )  and tonight I made GRAVY successfully for the first time! gravy on mashed potatoes=amazing. lamb chops=not so good : ( |  window shopping | uncle don came to install our new water heater and soft water (my hair thanks you!!) and a whole bunch of kids came to stay…..k just 3. but after 4 dogs, 3 kids, construction and 6 adults trampled everywhere in a 1,000 sq ft house things get a little messy! | volunteering at the animal shelter | and met kit kat….the sweetest one-eyed kitty around | OH! and the highlight… our dinner party! here’s what sheila and i made for 10 friends:

course #1: roasted shrimp cocktail with sauce from scratch

course #2: carrot-ginger soup, puree with cream fraiche and chives

course #3: herbed goat cheese with toasted walnuts on endive

course #4: raspberry sorbet

course #5: proscuitto wrapped tilapia with sage, beurre blanc and roasted garlic asparagus

course #6: beef tenderloin with roasted shallot-bacon-port reduction with crispy fried onions

course #7: perfect chocolate layer cake with buttercream frosting …….100% from scratch

now i’m hungry again.
