the place with no snow

we had such a great time in Sun City West, Arizona…  my aunt and uncle Winter down there in a ranch style house in the desert. there’s no grass, no mosquitos, and no kids. And actually in their particular area of town, no kids under 18 can stay for longer than 2 weeks. And they like it that way. It was hilarious to listen in on random old person chatter at the pool. They really don’t like getting splashed or especially getting their hair wet by wreckless youth. I felt a little bit like Cameron Diaz in the movie “In Her Shoes.”  I 100% understand the draw, though. It’s beautiful weather when it’s frigid and windy in here; it’s like summer camp for old people…every little community has their own fitness center, pool, golf course, art classes, wood working, etc… and did I mention it’s hot? good for their aging joints, I suppose.

We ate a ton, Grandma got some new hair, and Ryan got to golf a couple of times. What else… um… lots of consignment and second-hand furniture shopping. Estate sales and the like are very plentiful and fruitful in Arizona. As a matter of fact, every time we heard an emergency siren we joked and rushed to be the first to shout out “Estate Sale!”  lol

we’re terrible.

here’s a little video of our quick weekend trip… enjoy!

(and to explain one scene… we couldn’t all fit in the same car unless someone rode in the back. like a dog.)
