jameson family stay-cation 2012

My Grandma Helen had another birthday on Halloween! 83 years young. We love her so much.

We [Me, Dad, Aunt Judy, and my cousin Wendy]surprised her with a day in Omaha Monday. Pretty much the best Monday in a while.

our itinerary:

WILDLIFE ORNAMENT MAKING WORKSHOP  Lauritzen Gardens

LUNCH  M’s PUB

MANICURES AND MASSAGES  Urbane Salon & Day Spa

Sushi and Cocktail happy hour at Kona

such a blast.

if you’ve never been to the botanical gardens and you like, well, plants… you should definitely check it out. they have fun stuff to do all year round. bonus: the workshop was absolutely FREE and we got to take home 5 creations we made. The rest we made for the several trees on display for the local birdies.

If you don’t like nature, you should probably skip it and go to the mall.

we were impressed by my Dad’s creativity.

a bit of antiquing before lunch… Old market, OMaha.

Hubie the cat. he really is the friendliest cat in Omaha. I’d vote for him. although it looks like Dad is choking him, I assure you, hubie was just being shy.

…because everyone needs a porcelain beagle.

waitress spilled a glass of red wine on me. we got 3 of these comped. : )

stuffed full from lunch, but it totally didn’t stop us from indulging more. these sweet ladies had champagne on ice and a whole platter of chocolates waiting for us.

my freaky plastic hands. waiting for my wax to cool. sipping champagne.

your typical Monday.

i bet all man celebrities get these gentleman’s manicures.

Dad’s hands ‘before’

dad’s hands ‘after.’   vast improvement.  Ryan needs one of these. he’s a nail nibbler’.

i’m so excited to find a spot to put my handmade wildlife snacks. maybe we’ll finally attract that little black squirrel back.

see what we did last stay-cation…
