sometimes I don’t like the taste of meat. especially pork (that’s not ham or bacon) for some reason. BUT… I just made these babies last Sunday when the in-laws were visiting and they were finger licking good. I used my dutch oven (I use it nearly every meal. if you don’t have one, GET ONE! TODAY!). The house smelled fabulous and very very little effort. Mash up some taters and steam some veggies and voila! a meal, made from scratch, that you can be proud of.

The recipe came from a high school graduation gift from my old work… a wooden box full of tried and true recipes. Very thoughtful. and 12 years later I’m using one of them.
