some new things

Stacy’s been out shopping… just a few new treasures to share with you tonight….

On Wednesday mornings after bible study I figure I’m too dressed up to go straight home, therefore I shop. For food, paper towels, stuff for the house [or my Dad’s… Ive designated myself as his stylist.]

Yesterday I was in Omaha with my friend, Whitney, whose in the market for a new camera. It was weird, but her car drove us to Regency [where Anthropologie and Pottery Barn reside.] I was good…I just drooled and candidly took some cell phone pics. They go in my “stuff I can’t afford myself, but maybe in a few year’s worth of gift cards I can finally buy them IF I still remember how I wanted it soooo so badly” file. Good just to get inspired, anyhow. Anthro sure knows how to speak to my retail sweet tooth. Oh yeah, and we also went to this pretty rad home store called Pearson and Co. Got a couple functional things [captioned below.]

I hope I get a chance to visit some places when I’m in Beatrice next week. Prices are so good there. Don’t tell them that, though. Or else I’ll only be able to afford 5 things I don’t need, rather than the usual 25.

Gee, I make it sound like I have a shopping problem in this post. I promise you I do not. I’m wise on how I spend my pennies. [Ryan would disagree, however.] but I really only purchase items that I can A- use as a prop   B-display it year-round in the house or studio   C- is uber functional. at least 2 jobs. even if one of those jobs is to defy gravity.

Today i found myself at Simon Says, a local store downtown. All the stores downtown are geared up for their holiday open houses. Is it just me or does Christmas seem to be creeping out extra early this year? I mean, usually it’s November, but it’s the BEGINNING of November. I’ve already seen, like, 5 Target commercials with dancing christmas dogs.

now onto our new lovely things…

we’re still in shock that we found an actual working photo booth when we were in California. they are really hard to come by in this state! had to frame ours up. it may never happen again.

anthro. *sigh*  i think i could probably make a giant painting of a dog, too. but it wouldn’t be half as cool as this one. because it’s  at  anthropologie and that makes it cool.

everyone needs a brass horse. i haven’t decided if it will stay at our house or Dad’s.  and the clampy thing is a reproduction [which i didn’t realize until after i bought it…] oh well. no fear of it rusting out, i guess. i can think of lots of things to do with it; recipe holding, a sweet note to Ryan with his honey-do’s, i could keep my cash in there….

the wooden tray came from Pearson; this sweet little Nebraska book came from Simon’s and so did the antler. I got it for Ryan. we’ll see how long it takes him to ask about it.

pilgrims and indians. dining together. $15 at Simon’s.

this stool finally arrived all the way from Arizona. I bought this sucker back in March during the trip from Hell [delayed flight, food poisoning, car accident]. I heart it. it’s a nice place to sit while I’m waiting for corn to pop.

horseshoe i got at a new store here called Found & Flora. I try hard not to go here every week. Kat is really making it hard. Her open house is on Friday.

The candle smells like ‘laundry’ according to Ry. i disagree. I don’t know what it smells like, but i kinda wanna roll in it.

my aunt and uncle are moving from kearney to lincoln and i guess because we’ve been there helping  a couple times she thought we should have this hand-painted photograph. i’ve always always loved it hanging in their house. can’t wait to find a home for it.

976 trips to Menards and all i got was this crappy wire. the inspector came yesterday, though. nothing to correct! woot!

my mother-in-law is adopting this schnauzer from S.C.L.P.! We get to deliver her this weekend! her name is Lizzie. a very sweet dog that doesn’t dawdle in the yard. she does her thing and then right back in. it’s a pretty sweet deal.

this is my aunt and uncles new house in lincoln. fantastic neighborhood. SO happy to have them close again! we missed them terribly, as they lived just a block from us when we lived in Kearney.
