get your minds outta the gutter. not THAT kind of shower. geesh.
my cousin, Andrea, is getting married and the aunts and I threw her and her fiancé, Andy, a couple’s shower last Friday night at The Pour House. If you have a party to plan, I strongly recommend them. It’s actually the old opera house built in 1884 (i think?) and we got a tour. We were fascinated. I’m seriously kicking myself in the behind for not taking my camera (or even my iphone!) up there. But mark my words. IT. IS. AMAZING. Original hand-painted backdrops; talllll ceilings; old theatre seating; a wind machine. Abundant and beautiful natural light— If you can’t tell, I’m all ready to do a photo shoot here. Any takers??? I imagine going crazy with wardrobe—some big, fluffy period dress. a couple; senior; bride. I must shoot here. i won’t sleep until I do. they say it’s haunted, otherwise I’d figure out how to shoot myself up there. lol
After our tour, we headed back down for wine, pork sliders with homemade horseradish cream, and pistachio cupcakes. Just one shower game and then the American ritual of sitting on folding chairs and opening gift after gift in front of everyone while they oooo’d and awwwww’d. [traditionally i really can’t stand showers of any kind. ask any one of my close friends and they will tell you just how much] BUT Andrea, like myself, is an only child. We gotta look out for each other. It was such a fun night spent with family… got us all ramped up for their wedding week in California in October! so thankful that most everyone is able to make the trip.
hope your weekend was as good as ours!
and for realsies…. anyone want a 100% unique shoot at the opera house sometime?
