planning for phase no. 2

today we spent some time out in the yard measuring, flagging, mourning over the cut trees (okay just me… ryan hates anything he has to mow around)… and it’s one of those famous nebraska days where the wind is so gusty the whole house shakes. but we’re still very excited to start our next project! yes, phase 2 holds lots of exciting things: revamping the existing 1 car attached garage, adding a storage/office/studio space for me, and another 2 car attached garage/workshop for mr. Ideus. a lot of trees and bushes sadly had to leave us before their time and our nearly acre lot is shrinking to half it’s size. but here are the ‘before’ shots (with trees still intact). i promise to post more during construction this time around. : )

this is the backyard of our house…i’m facing north. all the construction is starting at the end of the house and moving west.

now i’m facing east. all these trees are now gone : (   thousands of homeless rabbits now roam the streets.

taken from the northeast corner. picture new addition in place of the beautiful trees….and driveway instead of grass.

north wall of the existing garage. it will stay and get a facelift—new garage door and we’ve decided to paint all the brick instead of trying to match it. color=undecided.
