our baby bump

In case you’re not a follower on Facebook or Instagram, we have some lovely news, dear blog readers!

A little stranger is coming to live with us end of October!

The whole thing has been hard to grasp. We had been trying (not hard, but still trying nonetheless) for a year and a half. Unfortunately had a miscarriage last fall at 9 1/2 weeks and a home pregnancy test came out positive in February for this pregnancy.  I have never had a single symptom (except minor heartburn now in the 3rd trimester) and it hasn’t even felt real until we felt the baby starting to move around 5 months. Perhaps that is why we chose to wait so long to announce it… but the loss was definitely devastating. I struggled with deciding to mention on my blog or not, but I think we’ve healed and are able to be joyous and happy (not guilty or hesitant) about welcoming a new life into the world. My journey through faith has been challenging to say the least! When you have no symptoms (which I didn’t the first time, either), it’s thee truest walk of faith. To trust God that everything is healthy when you have nothing to go on but your faith in Him.

We walk by FAITH, not by sight.

2 Corinthians 5:7

I attended a Women’s Retreat in March… the weekend after we saw that there was, indeed, a heartbeat in this little baby and it was the perfect time to just praise God and be thankful. Ever since that weekend, I’ve relied on the fact that the plan for my life is NOT in my control. Things happen for a reason and in God’s timing. Our job is to do what we can and let God does the rest.

So here it is! Our little bump.

now 28.5 weeks.

Boy or girl, we don’t know.

I’m sure we’re in for the ride of our lives.

my husband and Dad are the BEST! Replaced windows and hung wallpaper last weekend.

our whole house is a disaster right now… the basement and backyard are being worked on and the kitchen window was replaced too! great feeling to have projects slowly getting finished. Nothing like a good psycho nester to contend with, huh Ry?
