LaMarr, my mother’s mother

Gramma Newton. she could teach you a thing or two. she raised five kids on the farm … five very unique individuals who all have a passion for life and family.

Nancy: a creative crafting genius who insists on having a good time everywhere she’s planted.

Richard: a quiet guy… married to a beautiful, artistic soul named Susan who is his perfect counterpoint. he delivers rural mail and plows the family farm.

Barbara: my mom : ) a nurse who has a heart of gold and most like her mother. loves to grow things and help do anything needing attention.

Charles: bleach-blond, curly hair. the most beautiful baby and now, handsome guy who lives in Texas and makes wine.

Michael: 100% looks like his dad. also plows the family farm—as he should! he’s great at it.

She married my Grandpa in the 1950’s…they bought a schoolhouse by Bradshaw, NE and renovated to grow their family in.  so see…..renovation is in my blood ; )

Grandpa Pat passed away when I was in high school, shortly after my Great Grandma Estelle passed away. Two major shocks to our family, but Gramma Newton’s attitude is always great. At 80 years old, she travels constantly; loves puzzles; and has even started taking computer classes (I’m proud to say that she can now type a letter on the laptop!) she has 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. she never takes a day for granted and she is so special to all of us. we love you Gramma Newton!

this weird cement thing in the yard. as little grandkids, we never knew what it was, but it made a great seat.

the view from the kitchen sink…she can see when the boys are in from the field to get lunch on the table. she’s a great cook…..as most grandmas are. : )

we discovered her mean, competitive streak I never knew she had. she doesn’t mess around with mexican train.

my Grandma Helen and Dad joined us…

our littlest cousin, Rigs. just turned Two….with uncle Rick (who Rigs calls “Pa”)
