Anniversary weekend in KC!

We went to Kansas City for our anniversary. It was no Hawaii (where we went for our honeymoon) but it was still fantastic because we were together. We have such a greater appreciation for each other now than we did when we first were married.  We’ve both grown as individuals and as a couple. We were so young when we said our vows… but we’re so proud of our strengths as a couple. The secret for us is honesty and openness. And sure we had arguments the whole time about directions (he NEVER wants to get directions from Siri! he doesn’t trust her) and about where we were going to eat. But we had a great time and got a nap in both days. : ) woot woot!

we started with breakfast at Bread & Cup with my Mom… she gave us this beautiful vase for when Ryan buys me flowers (not holding my breath on that. haha) They had the BEST cinnamon rolls ever with homemade carmel sauce on top.

we checked into our hotel, then had the shuttle take us to Grinders… where we always have to go when we’re in town. The best philly cheesesteaks ever and ice cold Boulevard to wash it down.  We went and saw The Intership at the Alamo where we had an actual waiter bring us popcorn, beer, and a milkshake—quite frankly anything we could want. We couldv’e even had dinner there!

Saturday we had lunch with my friend, Crystal… bloody marys were great. More salt to go with our salt from the day before. Then she showed us around her house— she lived only 3 blocks from The Remedy. Her little dogs are so cute. We headed back to the hotel to nap and a huge rainstorm came in… it was so nice to nap to the sound of rain on our balcony. Free happy hour while we waited for the rain to stop and then we went shopping. I even got Ryan to eat raw sushi. I can’t believe it. He’d eat raw fish, but still not mushrooms. I don’t know what he has against them!! On our way back home we swung by to say hey to the Dad’s for father’s day and got home to pick up the doggies from SCLP around 10.

yeah…. I don’t know. free happy hour is to blame for this one.

on the way back, we visited Beatrice to see the Dad’s on father’s day. And I always like to drive by my childhood home. It’s so unkept now. My mom took such great pride in our lawn! Sad to see it now in such terrible shape. : (  I know the pic doesn’t look all bad, but trust me! It’s bad!

Ryan filling out his Father’s Day card whilst parked in their driveway. can we say ‘procrastinate?’

the view out my Dad’s back deck…
